In a significant move, President Bola Tinubu has officially signed the N2.17 trillion 2023 Supplementary Budget into law. The budget was recently passed by the National Assembly and is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the economic landscape for the year.
The historic signing took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was attended by key figures in the nation’s legislative and executive branches. President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, were among those present to witness this pivotal moment.
Accompanying the President were prominent government officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; and Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji. Also in attendance were Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Olamilakan Adeola.
