Tinubu Postpones FEC Meeting, Flags to Fly Half-Mast Over Lagbaja’s Death

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed today’s (Wednesday) Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting following the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja.

A new date for the meeting will be announced later.

General Lagbaja, who served as Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, until his passing on November 5, 2024, passed away on Tuesday night.

In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, revealed that President Tinubu had also ordered flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide for seven days in honour of the late general.

President Tinubu had earlier expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces following the general’s passing.
