President Bola Tinubu has offered his condolences to the family of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, who passed away on Thursday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed sorrow over the loss.
The statement, titled “President Tinubu Mourns Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,” conveyed the President’s sympathies.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who was 82 years old, died on July 25, 2024, following a brief illness, according to a family announcement.
“The Iwuanyanwu family of Umuohii Atta, in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, announces the demise of our patriarch, Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu-Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo,” the statement from the family said.
President Tinubu’s statement noted, “The President condoles with the Imo State Government, the friends and associates of the deceased, and Ndi Igbo over this irreparable loss. The President affirms that Chief Iwuanyanwu will always be remembered for his remarkable legacy.”
Tinubu also offered prayers for the repose of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s soul and for comfort to his family during this period of mourning.
