Super Falcons Set to Discover 2025 WAFCON Group Opponents

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will soon know their opponents for the group stage of the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with the official draw scheduled for Friday, November 22.

This highly anticipated event will determine the matchups for the 12 teams competing in the tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco.

The 13th edition of WAFCON, set to take place from July 5 to 26, 2025, will showcase the top women’s football talent from across the African continent.

Alongside Nigeria, the other confirmed teams include defending champions South Africa, host nation Morocco, and nine other top African sides: Ghana, Zambia, Algeria, Tunisia, DR Congo, Senegal, Mali, Botswana, and Tanzania.

The Super Falcons will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing campaign at the 2022 WAFCON, where they finished fourth after a semi-final loss to Morocco and a defeat to Zambia in the third-place match.

With the 2025 tournament just around the corner, the Falcons will be aiming to restore their dominance in African women’s football.

Details regarding the draw procedure will be released shortly by CAF, but with the teams now confirmed, all eyes will be on the Super Falcons as they prepare to take on the best of Africa once again.
