Super Eagles Captain Troost-Ekong Leaves PAOK, Joins Al-Kholood

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has officially announced his departure from Greek side PAOK in an emotional farewell message as he prepares for a new chapter in his career with Al-Kholood Club in the Saudi Pro League.

In a heartfelt statement, Troost-Ekong expressed his gratitude to everyone at PAOK for an incredible year in Thessaloniki.

The Nigerian defender thanked the club’s president, staff, medical team, and manager, General Lucescu, alongside his teammates, for their belief and hard work that culminated in a memorable championship run and unforgettable European nights.

“Dear PAOK, after an amazing one year in Thessaloniki, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to share and be a part of these moments with you,” Troost-Ekong wrote.

“I want to thank the president, club staff, medical team, General Lucescu, assistant, and my teammates who have become family, for the belief and hard work that resulted in an unforgettable championship and special European nights.”

He also paid tribute to the PAOK fans, acknowledging their unwavering support through difficult times and highlighting the unique atmosphere at Toumba Stadium.

“To the fans, thank you for the support through difficult times. Toumba is something special, and now I understand what ‘Mono PAOK’ means.

Troost-Ekong concluded his message by wishing PAOK continued success in the upcoming season and assuring them that he will remain a follower of the club from afar.
