…urges security agents to fish out culprits
A group, Well-wishers of Boss Mustapha across the 36 states of the Federation, has warned Nigerians to stop distracting the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha from discharging the current national assignment he’s saddled with.
The group said such Nigerians should desist from using the social media to spread unfounded rumours and posting images of the National Leader of the ruling All progressives Congress and Mustapha as joint candidates for the 2023 presidential election.
A press statement signed by Hon Musa Usman Terrang said such campaigns were not only unhealthy, unnecessary and uncalled for, but also untimely and not good for the current administration that Mustapha is serving in as a key official.
According to the statement, “Boss is tied up with many national assignments that require his entire time in making sure the country is free from novel COVID-19 pandemic, for which he is serving as the Chairman of the Presidential task force (PTF).
“We wish to reiterate that the SGF is busy, tied up with many national assignments with the fight against the novel COVID-19, which has caused more harm than good and has placed a great threat to the socio-economic development of Nigeria, is one of it; the SGF is the PTF Chairman and always committed to delivering the responsibilities of his office for better governance and service to the Nigerian people.
“Well-wishers of the SGF, Barr. Boss Mustapha wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the trending social media pictures of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the SGF, Barr. Boss Mustapha with the caption “HOPE 2023” and “2023 Great Combination.”
The group, however, cautioned the general public to desist from circulating such unfounded materials by ignoring them.
It also urged security agencies to investigate and bring to book those behind such action.
The Forum, which described itself as a group of progressive-minded Nigerians and well-wishers of the SGF, added that it was working hard in offering support to Mustapha to enable him to succeed on his assignments as the SGF and the PTF chairman.
The statement added, “The indefatigable SGF is busy and always committed to ensuring the success of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, which tops every interests for him now and beyond.
“Consequently, the Forum wishes to state categorically that the principled SGF should not be distracted by such political propaganda, which is untimely and unhealthy to governance.
“The SGF has chosen to deliver the mandate and the confidence reposed in him by his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, which is the first, second, third, to the tenth of his priorities.
“Anything short of these will not be tolerated by neither the SGF nor his well-wishers.
“We are optimistic that the SGF will not be deterred by cheap distractions until the next level government of Mr President is fully delivered to Nigerians.
“At the moment, the journey to the next level is on its top gear with so many productive policies, restructuring, diversification of the economy, and socioeconomic reforms towards uplifting the over 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years as promised by this administration.
“The Forum wishes to discourage further discourse, posts, bulletins, newspapers headlines and sharing of the 2023 trending texts.”
