Ruling All Progressives Congress says the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should prepare for another round of “spectacular” defeat at the Supreme Court.
APC was reacting to a statement by the PDP in which it said it is confident of victory at the apex court.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement said the PDP is deluded for thinking it could upturn the victory of President Bola Tinubu at the Supreme Court.
Morka said cases are won on grounds of credible evidence – not fabrications.
He said, “The PDP must also be thoroughly deluded to imagine that it can get through the court what it deservedly failed to get through the polls.
“Its claim that the election was ‘manipulated’ against its candidate is both ridiculous and insulting to millions of Nigerians who voted massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Presidential Candidate, now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The PDP and its candidate’s desperate resort to blackmail, disinformation, misinformation and malicious falsehoods against the President and our great Party is intended to prospectively downplay what promises to be a spectacular and ignominious defeat that awaits the PDP and its nemesis of a presidential candidate.”
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, is challenging the victory of Tinubu in February’s presidential election.
On Monday, the apex court reserved judgement in the appeals filed by Abubakar and Peter Obi challenging the election of Tinubu.
A seven-member panel of the apex court reserved judgement after parties in the appeals adopted their respective briefs of arguments.
