The Sokoto State Government has vowed to take strict measures against anyone caught vandalising school property, as part of its efforts to maintain the quality of education across the state.
This was emphasised by the Executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board, Umar Tambuwal, during an unscheduled visit to Marafa Danbaba Model Primary School in Sokoto South Local Government Area on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Murtala Danladi, Tambuwal assured that the government is committed to safeguarding educational facilities and will not tolerate any form of vandalism.
“Anybody caught vandalising the school property would be made to face the wrath of the law, as the government is doing everything possible to ensure a conducive learning environment in every nook and cranny of the state,” he warned.
During his visit, Tambuwal also made a series of promises to improve the school.
“The Executive Chairman pledged to provide more security and portable water as well as upgrading the school to the status of Junior Secondary School very soon,” the statement noted.
He added that the board had already constructed new blocks of classrooms and toilet facilities to complement the efforts of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in improving education across the state.
Tambuwal, accompanied by board members Alhaji Abdulkadir Gada, Alhaji Garba Sarki, and other board principals, visited the school to assess its condition.
