Business Manager, Silverbird Radio and Television in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Segun Owolabi, has escaped an attempt on his life by some unidentified gunmen.
It was lesrnt that four masked gunmen on a tricycle, who were on the trail of the broadcaster on Monday evening, opened fire on his vehicle.
Owolabi was reportedly about to enter his house in Port Harcourt at 9pm, when the incident occurred.
On sighting the gunmen, Owolabi, who is also a pastor at Christ Embassy, decided to drive past his house while the gunmen pursued him and fired at his vehicle apparently to deflate the tyres.
But he was said to have managed to escape from the bandits.
Owolabi, who confirmed the incident, said he owed his safety to God and is eternally grateful to Him for His protection.
In 2014, a popular broadcaster and on-air personality in Rivers, Akatakpo, popularly known as Akas Baba, who was then an employee of Coolwazobiafm Port Harcourt, was kidnapped just as he was about driving into his house in Port Harcourt.
He was released about a week later.
