Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday, held a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Shettima and his successor as Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, were seen being ushered in to see President Buhari at about 04:00 pm on Wednesday.
Shettima’s meeting with Buhari comes hours after he was officially unveiled as the running mate to the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The APC presidential flagbearear had while visiting the President at his Daura home on July 10, announced his choice of Shettima, saying, “He is competent, capable and reliable.”
He, however, said that as at that time he had yet to inform Shettima about his emergence as his running mate.
Tinubu’s decision on a Muslim-Muslim ticket has continued to draw harsh criticisms from various groups across the country.
The APC Vice Presidential candidate did not speak to journalists after his meeting with President Buhari as he was rather ushered out of the Villa premises through a different route.
