The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied that its legal adviser resigned over Bola Tinubu-Kashim Shettima’s presidential ticket.
After Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the APC announced a former Borno State governor, Shettima, as his running mate on Sunday after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, an APC member, Daniel Bwala informed the public that he was leaving the APC due to the choice.
Some reports claimed that Bwala was the legal adviser of the ruling APC.
However, in a statement on Monday, Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC said that the claim that Bwala was the party’s legal adviser was erroneous.
He said, “Our attention has been drawn to a false and misleading report circulating on some media platforms that the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resigned.
“Barr. Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq is, and remains, the National Legal Adviser of APC.
“Barr. Daniel Bwala was not the National Legal Adviser of the Party as erroneously reported.
“The report is either borne out of mischief or extreme negligence. We urge the general public to kindly disregard.”
