Embattled popular Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha, has been found guilty and convicted for osexually assaulting a minor.
The Yoruba actor was convicted by an Ikeja special offences court in Lagos on Thursday.
Recall that Baba Ijesha has been in a protracted legal battle after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Ruling on the matter on Thursday, Oluwatoyin Taiwo, the presiding judge, convicted Baba Ijesha of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, and attempted sexual assault in a two-hour judgment.
Taiwo, however, discharged and acquitted him of count one and count six, which were: sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration.
This report was filed at the time the court stood down for a few minutes for the sentencing of the convict.
The actor was arraigned on June 24, 2021 for the offence.
During his trial, six prosecution witnesses testified against him.
They are Princess, the 14-year-old minor, Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode, a child expert; Aniekan Makanjuola, a medical doctor; Wahab Kareem, the investigating police officer; and Abigail Omane, a policewoman.
Levelled against him was a six-count charge that bothered on indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.
The Lagos state directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), levelled the charges against him.
