…thanks National Council of States
Taraba State 2023 governorship hopeful, Senator Anthony Manzo, has expressed appreciation to the National Council of States for granting state pardon to former governor, Rev Jolly Nyame and his Plateau State counterpart, Joshua Dariye.
Senator Manzo, a forefront contender for the Taraba State number one position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said, “ I am pleased that our leader, Rev Nyame is free. I am happy that he is rejoining his family and will be able to access medical care.
“We are excited in Taraba State because Rev Nyame, as peace maker and bridge builder, will continue to contribute to the peace process, unity and development of our state.”
Manzo, who is a former Nigerian Ambassador to the State of Israel and Cyprus, noted in a statement on Friday that Nyame would deploy his wealth of experience and knowledge towards restoring peace and unity in the state.
He pointed out that some useful lessons must have been learnt from the prison experience, which he said would put Rev Nyame in a better stead in the years ahead.
Senator Manzo thanked family members, friends and associates of Rev Nyame, who stood by him during his travails.
Nyame was governor of Taraba State under the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) between 1999 and 2007.
