A swift response from a joint security patrol team, comprising officers of the Nigeria Police and members of the Sokoto State Community Guard, thwarted a kidnap operation along the Goronyo-Sabon Birni highway in Sokoto State.
The incident occurred at Kwanar Mahalba, a location within the troubled eastern senatorial district of the state. Gunmen, suspected to be armed bandits, reportedly ambushed a commercial vehicle traveling on the highway, attempting to abduct its occupants.
