Popular singer and one-half of PSquare, Paul Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy, has publicly called out his twin brother and former bandmate, Peter Okoye (aka Mr P), along with their shared producer, over accusations of song theft.
Mr P recently released a track titled ‘Winning’ following the group’s third split earlier this year.
However, Rudeboy, in a post on Instagram, claimed that he had originally written and sung the track alongside a specific producer, only for it to be allegedly handed over to his brother.
He asserted that his twin had gone on to record the song “word for word” with the same producer he had previously worked with.
Expressing his frustration, Rudeboy stated that he had submitted six songs to the supposed management and questioned the reason for re-recording his song in its entirety.
In his post, he wrote, “Song title: Winning Written and sang by Rudeboy, Produced by same producer.
“Now how come? Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr Producer, your case is for another day. Just a simple thing: Bring 6 songs, let me bring 6 songs. I Submitted 6 songs to the so-called management. Why re-singing my own song? word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year, June.”
Further, in his Instagram story, Rudeboy warned that he would release his original versions if he noticed any songs of his being duplicated.
He wrote, “The days of manipulation are over!! And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version.
“Oloriburuku!
“Music is not that hard!”
