Juma Mussa Mkambala, better known as Jux, is one of Tanzania’s leading R&B artists, capturing the hearts of many with his smooth vocals and love ballads.
The singer was Born on the 1st of September, 1989, in Dar es Salaam.
Jux found his passion for music at the young age of 16. His early music career started with rap, as he would perform for his friends and colleagues.
However, in 2008, when he signed to the Tanzanian record label A.M Records, he shifted his focus to R&B, which has since shaped his musical journey.
Over the years, he has released several hit tracks, including fan favourites like “Nitarejea” and “Sisikii,” which significantly contributed to his rise in the East African music scene.
One notable chapter in Jux’s life was his highly publicized relationship with fellow Tanzanian artist Vanessa Mdee.
Their romance attracted widespread media attention, with fans invested in their lives both on and off the stage.
Though their relationship ended, the former couple continues to shine individually in the music industry.
Jux’s artistry and influence have only grown, with his songs capturing the essence of love, heartbreak, and emotional depth, resonating with a broad audience.
Following his breakup with Mdee, Jux’s personal life remained a subject of intrigue. In February 2023, he confirmed his relationship with high-profile socialite Karen Bujulu, marking another significant chapter in his romantic life.
However, by August 2024, the buzz around Jux had shifted when reports surfaced that he had gotten engaged to Nigerian socialite Priscilla Ojo, daughter of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
Priscilla Ojo, born in March 2001, is 23 years old, making her 12 years younger than the 35-year-old Jux.
The Babcock graduate is a well-known socialite, brand influencer, and entrepreneur in Nigeria, often spotlighted for her lavish lifestyle and close-knit relationship with her mother.
The alleged engagement between Jux and Priscilla has stirred excitement and curiosity among fans of both stars, with many eagerly following the couple’s every move.
This is because fans didn’t see any engagement party or Will You Marry Me thing, although the duo were seen in an amazing Aso oke fabric taking nice pictures.
Some people share it all for publicity.
However, Jux has been tight-lipped about the details surrounding his relationship with Priscilla.
When asked if he had proposed, he remained evasive, saying, “Some things are private. If you see I have not shared on social media, it’s because I don’t want people to know yet, I want it private.”
He added, “We did a lot of things while there. You have seen what you have seen, but I will share everything with you soon.”
This secrecy has only fueled speculation, with many wondering when or if Jux will officially confirm the engagement. Their relationship has captivated media outlets across East Africa and Nigeria, becoming a hot topic for entertainment gossip.
While Jux is focusing on keeping certain aspects of his love life away from the public eye, fans are anxiously waiting for the next juicy reveal.
In the meantime, Jux continues to build on his musical legacy, releasing new music and remaining a dominant figure in the Tanzanian music scene, while Priscilla Ojo is equally making strides in her career as a socialite and influencer.
Whether or not the two will step into the limelight as a confirmed couple, their romance has already become one of the most talked about in African entertainment circles.
