Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has called up Vincent Onovo to the national team ahead of Tuesday’s second friendly against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Onovo, who is already in the team camp ply his trade with Hungarian ub Ujpest FC and plays as a midfielder.
Rohr decided to call up the 24-year old following injuries to William Troost-Ekong and Jamilu Collins.
Both players have been ruled out of the game against Cameroon which has also left Rohr with just four defenders.
Fillers from the Super Eagles camp in Austria said Troost-Ekong has already left the camp for proper check up on his injury.
Onovo, who had also played for Finnish club Inter Turku and HJK Helsinki, will be hoping to make his senior national debut for the three-time Africa champions on Tuesday.
Nigeria lost 1-0 to Cameroon on Friday and will be hoping to take their pound of flesh when both teams clash again at the Stadion Weiner Neustadt, Vienna, Austria.
