Former Real Madrid legend, Roberto Carlos, has firmly denied recent rumors claiming he has been living at the club’s Valdebebas training ground following his divorce from his wife, Mariana Luccon.
The 2002 World Cup winner was forced to address the false stories circulating about his personal life after speculation arose that he had moved into the club’s facility after parting ways with Luccon, whom he married in June 2009.
The couple shares two daughters, Manuela and Mariana, and reports indicate that Luccon continues to reside in the family’s main home, while her parents reportedly live in another of Carlos’ properties.
The divorce, reportedly complicated due to Carlos’ £133 million fortune, has led to intense media scrutiny.
However, the Brazilian left-back took to social media to refute the claims, stating:
“In recent days, I have become aware of false and damaging stories circulating about me and my family. While I value privacy, I feel compelled to address these baseless rumors about my living situation. These fabricated stories are entirely false and seem designated to generate clicks.”
Carlos further assured his followers, “I remain in a private residence, supported by members of my family. My legal team is reviewing these claims and will take appropriate action. I ask for privacy regarding personal matters and thank those who continue to support me during this time.”
The 51-year-old former footballer, whose wealth is estimated at £133 million, is clearly determined to put the rumors to rest and protect his family’s privacy during this challenging time.
