The highly awaited BBNaija season 6 premieres today and will be hosted by none other than Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Like previous seasons, there are different twists and turns to be experienced. Big Brother is adding more spice and excitement to the show this year. From a different voting system to a double launch show, viewers are in for a treat this season.
MultiChoice Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, John Ugbe, claims that for this sixth season, they are pulling out all the stops in order to provide customers with an experience they will never forget.
Here are nine things to note about the forthcoming season.
1. A double launch show: Unlike previous seasons, BBNaija will start with a double launch show on Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25, 2021. It marks the first time the show will launch for two consecutive nights. I wonder what tricks Biggie will pull this time.
2. The spectacular prize: This year’s season has a massive N90 million up for grabs for the lucky winner. Yes, way bigger than the previous editions.
3. Different voting process: SMS voting will not be available this season. To vote, viewers will have to go to the Big Brother Naija website and mobile website, as well as MyDStv and MyGOtv applications.
4. Show duration: It is scheduled to run for 72 days, ending on October 3, 2021. That’s 72 days of drama, games, parties and excitement!
5. More interesting personalities: MultiChoice assures that the housemates this season will be more interesting than any housemates before. We have always seen Big Brother pick the most interesting mix of people, and this year will not be any different.
6. More engaging tasks: If you thought the previous seasons had the most engaging, funny and rewarding tasks, think again. Big Brother Naija season 6 will have even more incredible and financially rewarding activities for the housemates. With Abeg as the headlines sponsor and Patricia being in the mix, will the housemates perform a series of money related tasks? Will they have to beg for money and see who comes up with the highest amount in the end? I can’t wait!
7. A brand new, exclusively packaged BBNaija show on Showmax: With Showmax’s new 30-minute show called The Buzz, viewers can catch up on all the hidden action they may have missed on other channels. The dedicated series will consist of a magazine-style show with a host, which will be broadcast twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
8. Two new house currencies: Biggie will be replacing the currency used in the previous seasons with new currencies when the show premieres today. Any chance this has something to do with Abeg and Patricia?
9. A revamped BBNaija house: Biggie likes to keep us on our toes. He strikes me as someone who values aesthetically pleasing spaces that serve functional purposes. That’s how I know that the house is going to look completely different from the way it did last year. As with previous seasons, the house is being entirely designed by local artisans, with new decor, new features, and even a surprise that has never been seen before.
In light of all these exciting developments, First News will be covering the show and bringing you the juiciest updates, so you can follow us on our social media platforms or sign up here to get entertaining updates from the show.
After the BBNaija Lockdown Season, viewers expect a lot more from season 6 of the show. Will the housemates bring the heat? Will there be a friendly fire? Will the show put us to sleep or leave us with shock on our faces?
I guess we’ll find out!
