Rising Insecurity: Obasanjo Holds Closed-Door Meeting with IBB, Abdulsalami in Minna

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former National Security Adviser Aliyu Gusau in a closed-door session on Sunday in Minna, Niger State.

Obasanjo arrived in Minna around 4:15 pm, flying in on a chartered flight from Edo State, where he had earlier visited the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, to celebrate his 90th birthday.

Upon his arrival, Obasanjo went directly to Babangida’s Hilltop residence, where Abdulsalami and Gusau were already gathered.

While details of the meeting were not disclosed, sources close to the elder statesmen hinted that the discussions might have centered on the escalating banditry and insecurity plaguing Niger State and other parts of Northern Nigeria.
