Bandits’s negotiator, Tukur Mamu has been arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS).
Mamu, who negotiated the release of some of the hostages in the March 2022 train abduction in Kaduna, was arrested by the DSS on Wednesday afternoon at the Aminu Kano International Airport upon his arrival from Egypt.
Mumu is also the spokesperson of the Kaduna-based cleric, Ahmad Gumi.
His repatriation followed his arrest by Interpol, and detention in Egypt on Tuesday, while he was on his way to lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia alonside his family members.
Mamu, who is the Publisher of Desert Herald Newspaper in Kaduna, said his arrest in the North African country was on the order of the Federal Governent.
Recall that Mumu recently announced his withdrawal as the lead negotiator in securing the release of the hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
His withdrawal came after he accused the Nigerian government of threatening his life.
