Real Madrid secured their first trophy of the new season by defeating Atalanta 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup.

The match was an exciting, back-and-forth contest, with both teams missing several chances to score.

Madrid controlled the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net, leaving the score 0-0 at halftime.

The breakthrough came in the 59th minute when Federico Valverde scored to put Madrid ahead. Just nine minutes later, Kylian Mbappé, in his debut for Madrid, added a second goal, sealing the victory. This goal was particularly special for Mbappé, as it earned him his first UEFA club trophy—a milestone he had been eager to achieve.

Atalanta, with Ademola Lookman in their ranks, fought hard but couldn’t break through Madrid’s defense.

The match ended 2-0, with Real Madrid lifting the UEFA Super Cup and starting the season on a high note.
