Enugu’s Rangers International FC has successfully advanced to the next round of the CAF Champions League after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Zilimadjou FC of Comoros.
The match, held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, saw Rangers progress with a 2-1 aggregate score.
Rangers took the lead in the 79th minute when Kenechukwu confidently converted a penalty, sending the home fans into a frenzy.
However, the celebrations were short-lived as Zilimadjou responded with an equalizer in the 85th minute, leveling the match at 1-1.
Despite the late pressure from the Comoros side, Rangers held on to secure the aggregate victory, ensuring their place in the next round of Africa’s premier club competition.
This result marks a significant achievement for Rangers, who will now focus on their preparations for the next challenge in the tournament.
