Angry youths on Monday blocked vehicular movements at the Suleja, Niger State end of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway to protest against ceaseless attacks by bandits and kidnappers on their communities.
The youths, who are from villages adjoining the highway, were said to have resulted to protest to register their anger after early Monday fresh attack in Gauraka town, during which no less than 11 people were abducted
Bandits on motorcycles were said to have stormed the area and the immediate villages at about 7:30 am on Monday and shot sporadically into the air to scare the people. They were said to have moved from house to house to carry out the raid.
It was further gathered that some villages escaped into bushes while those who could not escape were abducted by the bandits.
Consequently, the youths in their hundreds hit the Kaduna-Suleja- Abuja road protesting the raid.
The development affected the free flow of traffic on the busy road.
