Ahead of primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi state, the party has advised members to be law-abiding.
In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chika Nwoba, the party advised security agencies to arrest anyone who attempts to disrupt activities of the party in the state.
“As we prepare for our various primary elections – State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and Gubernatorial, all members of the PDP in Ebonyi State are called on to be law abiding, peaceful and desist from any act designed to undermine these exercises.
“The Police and all Security agencies are put on notice that should any breach of public peace happen in any of these primaries anywhere in Ebonyi State, by way of thuggery, gunshots and or any other form of violence, some rebellious gubernatorial aspirants and their enablers within the party who are known to everyone should be held responsible. We have it on good authority that, in addition to their plan to obtain a black market Court Order suspending the State Chairman of PDP, they have imported thugs to disrupt party activities next week.
“The Peoples Democratic Party as a body is not responsible for any act of criminality and calls on Security agencies to be on the alert and avert these nefarious plans. Members are called on to desist from being used as tools of violence. We wish all aspirants the best as they prepare for their respective primary election.”
