…says ‘you have no other country’

The Polling Unit Ambassadors of Nigeria, in collaboration with other Civil Society Organisations, on Wednesday, called on Nigerians to listen to the voice of wisdom and avoid any action that will throw the country into violence.
At a press conference on the state of the nation in Nigeria by the Cpt. D. Suleman, PUAN said,
“Nigeria is our country, and by the basic facts, its our only country, we must together keep her safe and well. So whatever that will make her bleed, we must together avoid it at all cost.
“Because if we don’t, we the people will only suffer the aftermath of whatever fall out of this likely agitations.
“I urge all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to listen to the voice of wisdom. Only those who are close to history will understand that violence is nowhere close to solving our individual and collective challenges.
“We are people of intelligence, and we must act same, yes the presidential and National Assembly elections held February 25th 2023 came with a lot of disappointment and fall short of the peoples expectations.
“Upload of election results at polling Unit failed, yes polling Unit Ambassadors of Nigeria PUAN stands by this technology of INEC as we believe that election result cannot be rigged at the polling unit, the chances are very slim. Our election result collation center are our major problem.
“But all of this well be addressed by INEC. Let’s give the Chairman of the Commission Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the Commission a chance to redeem the situation, we have individual and collectively put so much for the success of the Implementation of the electoral act 2022, let’s wait for Answers from the Commission after this very major National Exercise.
“We must find a professional and global acceptable standard or practise to address our Grievance which is already provided by the Nigeria constitution and the electoral act 2022. This is what make us humans and intelligence.
“At this juncture, I urge and plead with all Nigerians home and abroad not to take laws into their hands, but to use all available means as provided by the law to seek redress for all grievances.
“I also use this medium to speak to all stakeholders in the electoral process to talk to their supporters and agent to remain calm and ensure peace precede in Nigeria. Election will always come and go, but we the people will remain.
“Just last week during the presidential and National Assembly election, the nation lost some very promising young Nigerians due to some undemocratic behaviour, they are gone never to be seen again. The national grieve for them, a life is lost, we must not allow this happen again in this country.
“I hereby call on all Nigerians home and abroad to seek for redress using the already available channels provided by law to avoid anarchy or civil unrest in Nigeria. I hereby give my other colleagues the opportunity to speak to Nigerian.”
