President Bola Tinubu has been elected the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States.
Tinubu was elected the chairman at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, currently holding in Guinea-Bissau.
Tinubu, who was elated, pledged to take democracy seriously.
He noted that though democracy is tough, it is still the best form of government.
