The Presidency has come down hard on Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of Borno South, calling his recent comments on live television “reckless.”
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, didn’t hold back. He blasted the former Senate Chief Whip for making claims that robbed him respect “from any right thinking person.”
Ndume had alleged that Tinubu’s administration had been taken over by kleptocrats, kakistocrats, and a powerful cabal. Onanuga dismissed the claims outright, saying the Senator failed to provide “any scintilla of proof.”
“Ndume is entitled to his opinion,” Onanuga said, calling him a “lone-wolf opposition within the APC,” but accused him of often getting his facts wrong and relying on “a specious, faulty foundation.”
He pointed to a past incident where Ndume claimed that General Buratai had been ambushed, labelling it as false.

“A ranking Senator making a reckless statement on TV cannot command the respect of any right thinking person,” he added.
Onanuga also mocked Ndume’s use of the term “kakistocrats,” questioning if he even understood what it meant or was just using buzzwords.
“This President has many competent aides, many of whom were accomplished professionals before coming to work for the government,” he said.
“And they are doing a damn good job, reengineering the country’s economy to ensure it is put on a solid foundation for sustainable growth.”
