Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has made a u-turn, retracting his earlier statement that he founded One Million Boys, a notorious cult group terrorising Lagosians and residents of Ogun State.
Portable had in a viral video, earlier on Monday, said he formed the gang and another notorious group known as Ajah Boys.
Speaking in Yoruba in the video, which has now been deleted, he had said, “Open your ears and hear me. Have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys? I’m their founder. Go and ask Sammy larry.”
But in a follow-up video posted on his Instagram page, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner said “One Million Boys” means that he has a lot of supporters.
Portable, who spoke in an admixture of Pidgin and Yoruba, said, “Do you know what One Million Boys means? Fans are called One Million Boys. I cannot fight but I have back up. For instance, a pastor can say he has One Million people behind him, an herbalist has One Million people behind him. I am a child of God; I have plenty of people behind me. If I say One Million Boys, I mean Fans. I am an angel. If you hurt me, I have those that will fight for me.
“I am not a thief. It is not that notorious One Million Boys.”
But the Inspector-General Of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered the probe of the music star over his alleged link to the notorious gang.
