PICTORIAL: EFCC Nabs 17 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Kwara

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 17 suspected internet fraudsters in fresh sting operations across Kwara State.

The coordinated raids, which took place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, targeted several hotspots in Ilorin and Ifelodun Local Government Area, including Asa Dam, Al-Hikmah University area, Gaa-Odota, Ganmo, and Amoyo.

According to the EFCC, the arrests followed actionable intelligence linking the suspects to various forms of internet-related fraud.

Items recovered from the suspects include three luxury vehicles, several high-end smartphones, and laptop computers believed to be tools used in their alleged cybercrime activities.

This latest bust follows a similar operation just a week ago, in which 47 suspects were apprehended in the same localities.

The EFCC says all 17 suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
