Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with Sector 3 of the Operation Whirl Stroke, have intensified efforts in Karim Lamido Local Government Area (LGA) following recent crises that resulted in loss of lives and properties.
During a fighting patrol in Kwanchi village on Monday, the troops made contact with armed bandits and immediately engaged them in a hot pursuit, killing one and many others Injured.
According to reports, as the troops approach the suspects camp, a barrage of gunfire erupted from the armed bandits.
The troops quickly responded, unleashing their firepower and entering into a fierce battle with the criminals.
During the operation, troops successfully neutralised one bandit and recovered one Dane gun, one locally fabricated pistol and Four motorcycles.
Alhaji Munga is currently in military custody and continues to assist with investigations.

Commenting on the success of the operation, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa commended the troops for their swift action, discipline, and commitment.

Uwa further praised the determination of the troops to confront criminal elements wherever they may be concealed.
He emphasised that ensuring the safety and security of the citizens in Taraba State is of utmost importance.
He called on communities to continue supporting the Nigerian Army and security agencies with credible timely and information.
