A tanker fully loaded with fuel has crushed a teenager, Usman Rufai to death in Lokoja, Kogi State.
First News learnt that the tanker, which lost it’s brake, fell off the road and crushed the boy to death around Felele junction.
Bala Tanko, a resident in Lokoja, said the incident occurred around 7:30am when the victim was beside the road where passengers were waiting to board taxis.
It was also gathered that he was trying to assist his mother to take grinded beans and other materials needed for her akara business to the junction when the incident occurred.
Usman was said to have just secured admission into a National Diploma programme of Kogi State Polytechnic but had yet to resume due to Covid-19 pandemic that has stalled activities globally.
It was gathered that the victim’s mother aged 41 fainted, when the news of the sudden death of her son whom she had been struggling to train through education reached her.A relation of his said, “It is unfortunate that Felele has become a centre of motor accidents where vibrant people lose their lives. This year alone more than five major accident had occurred where many lives were lost.
“In fact, if I have the means I will relocate from this area because this recurrent accidents in this area are fearful and worrisome”,
