Alex Otti, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for governor in Abia State, said that Peter Obi, the party’s candidate for president, actually left Mr. Willie Obiano $155 million in the coffers of Anambra State.
Otti made this announcement on Wednesday during a one-day South-East stakeholders summit called “Roadmap 2023 Election Path to Victory” that was held in Enugu and attended by candidates for the LP running in elections across all Southeastern states.
Members of the Labour Party’s National Working Committee and party supporters who attended the one-day stakeholders meeting were also in attendance.
When Peter Obi was the governor of Anambra State, Otti said he was in charge of Diamond Bank’s operations at the time. Otti also said he personally oversaw helping Obi secure Eurobonds with the $155 million, securing tier-two capital in some banks.
According to Mr. Otti, some of the investments made have maturities as far as 2023, thus some of the money has not yet reached maturity.
