In the coming 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to win 25 states, including Lagos State.
During a meeting in Abuja to receive the report of the PDP Reconciliation Committee for Lagos and Osun states, PDP National Chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu made this statement.
“PDP will have a governor in Lagos and several other positions in the Senate, House of Representatives, and the house of assembly,” Ayu said.
He pleaded with leaders of the party who may be having issues to ensure such issues are resolved.
According to Ayu, when such is done, the “PDP will be celebrating, as I have always predicted, at least 25 governors, and also be having a big victory party in the Presidential Villa”.
Ayu claims that despite the fact that the party was in turmoil in Lagos, the work done by the Chief Eyitayo Jegede-led Committee has improved the PDP’s chances of winning the election the following year.
Jegede, the party’s candidate for governor in the 2022 Ondo election, informed the PDP chairman that the Committee had settled all disputes with disgruntled party members in the states of Lagos and Osun.
