Passengers escaped death on Tuesday evening as Lagos train derailed at Ladipo area of Oshodi.
The incident occurred near the fence of Bond FM, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FM station in Lagos.
A Bond FM correspondent, Taoreed Abdullahi who was at the scene of the incident reported that the train made an emergency stoppage after discovering that it almost derailed.
The train, coming from Iddo, Lagos State was heading to Agbado Ijoko area of Ogun State.
The passengers numbering almost one thousand felt disappointed and joined commercial buses to their various destinations.
Other passengers joined the team of train engineers to resolve the fault.
The fault was blamed on lack of good maintenance by the Nigeria Railway Authority.
