Oyo APC chairman dies in US

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Ajiboye Omodewu, has passed away after battling an undisclosed ailment for nearly a year.

Omodewu, who was receiving treatment in the United States, succumbed to the illness on Sunday, as confirmed by party officials.

A native of Otu-Itesiwaju in Oyo State, Omodewu was a prominent figure in state politics, having served as a commissioner in various ministries during the administration of the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

His contributions to the state were well-recognized, and he remained active in public service until his death.

Omodewu had recently completed his law degree and attended law school, furthering his education despite his ongoing health challenges.

The news of his death was confirmed by the Publicity Secretary of the Oyo State APC, Olawale Sadare, in a brief statement.

Sadare expressed the party’s deep sorrow over the loss of their chairman, noting his dedication and service to the party and the state.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.

Omodewu’s death marks a significant loss for the APC in Oyo State, as he was regarded as a key leader and strategist within the party.
