Ahead of this Saturday, July 16 Osun State governorship election, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and popular musician, David Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido, on Thursday stormed Osun State rally support for the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Other PDP chieftains at the rally were Governors Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), former Vice President Namadi Sambo, ex-Osun Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and other top officials of the party, including Vice Chairman South-West Soji Adagunodo.
Adeleke had also contested for the position four years ago but lost to the incumbent governor and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.
During the Thursday mega rally, Davido performed to the trilling of the crowd at the rally.
Speaking at the rally, the PDP National Chairman berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state, saying there is darkness in Osun State.
He urged the Osun electorate to vote for the PDP candidate, Adeleke, assuring that he would usher in good governance for the people.
In his address, Saraki recalled how the party was allegedly robbed of its opportunity to govern the state in 2018. He called on the people to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and make sure they voted out the APC by ensuring that Adeleke is elected as governor on July 16.
PDP’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, in his remarks appealed to the people to not only vote for Adeleke on Saturday but to also ensure protected their votes.
