Singer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, said that Osun State electorate are rejecting money being offered to them to buy their votes.
Davido, who stated this in a tweet Saturday morning, said there is still hope in Nigeria.
The Independent National Electoral Commission is conducting a governorship electon in Osun State this Saturday.
Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, of the Peoples Democratic Party, is one of the major contenders battling to unseat incumbent Governor of the state Gboyega Oyetola, who is the ruling All Progressives Congress candidate in the election.
There have been fears that the people of the state will trade their votes for cash as recently witnessed in Ekiti State.
But in a tweet Davido wrote,“People rejecting money being offered to them left and right in the State today … GREAT TO SEE … there is stilll hope for Nigeria”.
Meanwhile, Ademola has cast his vote.
