The Presidential Campaign Group of the former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has said the myriad of problems facing the country can only be solved by competent, youthful and proper leadership.
The campaigners declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the only party that could provide such needed leadership ahead of the 2023 polls.
The Chairman of the Abubakar Saraki Contact and Advocacy Council and Second Republic senator, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, made this known while addressing Bayelsa PDP leadership led by its Chairman, Solomon Agwanana, and statutory delegates in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Hagher declared that with Senator Bukola Saraki as the party presidential candidate and President of the country come 2023. the nation would get the needed leadership and its problems would be surmounted.
He said, “Nigeria is in dire need of a competent leader. The problem of Nigeria is lack of leadership. In this coming dispensation, join other Nigerians to anoint Bukola Saraki as president.
“Saraki will make Nigeria a country of our dream in 2023. We must produce the calibre of leaders that will be respected across the world.”
Also speaking, a member of the Saraki for President team, Prince Olateru Lekan, decried the situation of things in Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC), pointing out that the country is under the grip of insecurity.
Lekan said: “You can’t go to Kaduna by road, citizens cannot travel by air, road and rail safely to Kaduna. Saraki is coming to solve all those challenges. Nigeria’s economy is suffering because of inefficiencies yet the country runs oil and gas and other economic sectors.
“We are in a serious problem in Nigeria and if care is not taken, God forbid, we may not have Nigeria three years from now. That is why we are here because at tough times like this, we need to begin to take extraordinary actions. That is why we have come to tell you that we need a president that can be a Nigerian president, not a regional president, a president that can provide solutions to these problems that we are facing.”
