The case file relating to the Fundamental Human Rights Enforcement application filed by the aides of Yoruba activists, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been hijacked by armed robbers.
This was revealed by the lawyer of the Department of State Service (DSS), I. Awo, at the Federal High Court, on Wednesday.
He informed Justice Obiora Egwuatu that his colleague, who was coming to the court with the case file, took a ‘one chance’ vehicle and he was robbed of his belongings including the case file.
He, however, applied for an adjournment of the matter.
Meanwhile, the DSS have charged two of them for terrorism. The charges were filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In the suit no FHC/ABJ/CR/305/2021, dated August 31, 2021, the DSS through its lawyer, S.M. Bello, filed a five count terrorism charges against Noah Oyetunji and Amudat Babatunde (female).
DSS accused Oyetunji of being in possession of fire arms for terrorism-related activities and to have been promoting terrorism via her Facebook account.
But reacting to this, the detainees’ lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi said, “The charges are baseless, vexatious, shameful and without limbs.”
FirstNews had reported that had freed 10 of the 12 aides of Igboho after over 60 days in detention.
They were arrested in the raid carried out at Igboho’s residence in Soka area of Ibadan Oyo State on July 1.
