Olu of Itori, Ewekoro, Ogun State, Ọba Akorede Akamo, has lauded the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for establishing the Gateway Inland Dry Port (GIDP) at Kajola area to boost economic growth in the state.
The GIDP is expected to create 5000 direct jobs for job seekers and 15,000 indirect jobs for small business owners and also attracts both local and international investors when it begins operations.
Ọba Akamo, who praised Abiodun at the ground breaking ceremony of the project at Kajola, Ewekoro in company of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, said that the project when completed would boost the economy of Ewekoro and the entire state.
He revealed that about eight communities from his kingdom gave up their land for the construction of the project, noting that with the project the governor had added another feathers in his cap
“I want to thank the governor for taking the bull by the horn , you have given us a dry port and you have laid a very good legacy in Ogun State,” he stated.
