…says ‘he’ll add electoral value to PDP’
. ‘His political career has been without skirmishes’
The apex Igbo Socio-cultural, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, will add electoral value to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party following his selection as the running mate to its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Ohanaeze then congratulated Okowa on his emergence as the PDP vice-presidential candidate, describing him as a “detribalised patriot, purveyor of morals and a poster personality.”
The group, which expressed optimism that Okowa’s candidacy would add enormous electoral value to the PDP, noted that the Delta State governor throughout his political career had served “without skirmishes.”
Ohanaeze stated this on Friday in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, titled, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo congratulates Okowa as vice-presidential candidate.”
According to Ogbonnia, the Prof George Obiozor- led Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide is proud of Okowa.
The statement read in part, “the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide heartily congratulates an Igbo prodigy; an astute administrator, sagacious politician, brilliant physician, creative visionary, prudent resource manager, detribalized patriot, purveyor of morals and a poster personality, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State as he secures the highly coveted Vice Presidential candidacy of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
