Nigeria youth international, Nnamdi Ofoborh, is being linked with a move to Scottish Premiership giants, Glasgow Rangers.
According to reports, The Light Blues are closing in on a deal for Bournemouth pair, Jack Simpson and Ofoborh.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth-teamer can sign a preliminary contract with a foreign club this month as his contract with the Cherries expires in June 2021.
Aside from Rangers, Ofoborh also has suitors from the English Football League including Charlton Athletic.
Rangers have held preliminary talks with Bournemouth over a deal for the former Nigeria U20 international; the Championship promotion hopefuls would be due compensation if he moves across the border as he is under the age of 24.
Over the course of this season Ofoborh has recorded five appearances for the Cherries in all competitions.
Super Eagles stars Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo, ex-Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei and Dapo Mebude are on the books of Rangers.
Reacting over Ofoborh and Simpson moves, Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was careful not to let the cat out of the bag with the former Liverpool captain telling reporters at Friday morning’s press conference that he doesn’t discuss players registered with other clubs, adding that Rangers are always seeking to improve the squad.
“I think Rangers are linked with players on a daily basis especially when the window is open so it is not news to me,” Gerrard said.
“What I won’t do is be disrespectful to any individual player or to their clubs, there are two players that belong to different clubs.
“What I’ll say is that we are making inroads, we are actively trying to improve the group not just now but also for the future as well.
“Yes we are actively trying to add to the group come the summer but I certainly won’t be mentioning any names or elaborating on that.”
Ofoborh, 21, had stops at Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall before transferring to Bournemouth in 2016.
