Nigeria Immigration Service has decorated 58 newly promoted officers in Oyo State Command with a charge to see it as a further call to service.
Seven out of the 58 newly promoted officers were elevated to the rank of Deputy Comptroller of Immigration while the remaining six were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration.
In her charge, the state Comptroller of NIS, Adepeju Lawal urged them to justify their promotions through efficient service delivery.
She said the promotion would serve as a motivation to the officers and encouraged others yet to be promoted not to relent in the discharge of their constitutional responsibility.
Responding on behalf of promoted officers, Victoria Oyoyo, a DCI said the promotion was a call to higher responsibilities.
Oyoyo said, “I am very grateful to God for this promotion and I use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who supported us to make this day a reality.
“Promotion comes with enormous responsibilities. We promise not to disappoint the service. We also promise to put in our best efforts and carry out our duties as required to justify the promotion.”
