Nigeria’s Inflation Rises to 24.23% in March — NBS

Nigeria’s inflation rate climbed to 24.23 percent in March 2025, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released Tuesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The figure marks an increase from the 23.18 percent recorded in February, highlighting persistent upward pressure on the prices of goods and services across the country.

The NBS noted that the new rate reflects a return to inflation levels observed earlier in the year — particularly the 24.48 percent in January — following the recent rebasing of the CPI.

This latest rise continues to fuel public concern over the cost of living crisis, with food, transport, and housing costs remaining significantly high for average Nigerians.

More detailed analysis of the inflation components is expected in the full report, but early projections suggest sustained pressure on household spending power amid broader macroeconomic challenges.
