The Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nonye Ayeni, has announced that Nigeria’s total exports for the first half of 2024 reached $2.7 billion.
This figure represents a 2.6% increase in the total value of exports compared to the same period in 2023.
Speaking at a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Ayeni provided a detailed breakdown, revealing that 211 products were exported during the first half of the year.
Among the top products exported were cocoa, beans, urea, and sesame.
Ayeni also highlighted the top three export destinations for Nigerian products, which were Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Brazil.
This growth in exports is a positive indicator for Nigeria’s economy as the country continues to diversify its export portfolio and strengthen its presence in global markets.
