The Nigerian Army has launched an investigation into an incident involving an altercation between a senior Army officer, two soldiers, and a civilian, as captured in a widely circulated viral video.

Speaking on the matter, the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, revealed that the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, had ordered an immediate and thorough investigation to uncover the facts surrounding the case.
“The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a viral audio-visual recording circulating on social media platforms, purportedly showing a senior Army officer and two soldiers in an altercation with a man and a woman,” Major General Nwachukwu stated. “

However, the Acting Chief of Army Staff has directed an immediate investigation to unravel the true circumstances surrounding this altercation.”
The video, which has ignited debates online, depicts heated exchanges that allegedly escalated into physical assault.
