Nigerian Airlines Deserve Protection — Activist Adeniyi

Renowned Nigerian activist, Adetoun Adeniyi, fondly called Justadetoun has issued a passionate appeal for strong public backing of indigenous airlines, emphasizing the crucial role they play in the nation’s aviation sector.

Her call to action follows recent criticisms of Air Peace, a leading Nigerian airline, particularly over its luggage policies.

Defending the airline, Adeniyi described it as a “national asset that must be protected,” stressing the need for Nigerians to stand by their own.

She also pointed out what she perceives as a double standard in consumer expectations, stating, “We cannot try this in a foreign land.” Highlighting the technicalities of aviation safety, she further explained, “Every aircraft has a maximum take-off weight. If the exact weight being carried is not declared, it could lead to unsafe operations or even accidents.”

Her remarks have ignited widespread debate, with many Nigerians resonating with her stance on supporting homegrown businesses.

However, critics argue that while patronage is essential, indigenous airlines must also prioritize efficiency and customer satisfaction to retain public trust.
