New Permanent Secretaries Eminent as FG Begins Rigorous Selection

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has commenced a three-stage selection process to appoint new Permanent Secretaries, as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing public service delivery.

The process began with a written examination on Monday, November 11, where 19 of the 38 eligible Directors advanced to the next stage.

According to a statement by Eno Olotu, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Information and Orientation, the selected candidates will next undergo an ICT competency assessment on Wednesday, November 13. This stage is intended to evaluate their ability to integrate technology in government operations, a crucial skill for the Twenty-First Century public service.

The final stage, scheduled for Friday, November 15, will involve a comprehensive interview with a panel composed of senior government officials and representatives from the private sector.

This rigorous selection process aligns with a tradition of transparency to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are chosen.

Successful appointees will represent the states of Abia, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Rivers, where vacancies currently exist.

The Head of the Civil Service extended congratulations to all 38 candidates and expressed appreciation for public support in promoting merit-based career advancement within the Civil Service.
