Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has officially joined the comity of campus radio-owning institutions in Nigeria, following the approval granted by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to begin test transmission on 99.7FM.
The test transmission takes immediate effect and subsequently, will start full operation on the same frequency modulation as the “voice of development”, a statement by the institution’s Head, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr Yemi Ajibola.
The statement added that while reacting to the development, the Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, said the feat was in tandem with the vision of the State Government upon returning the Polytechnic to status quo.
He further said that the campus radio would not only serve as a practical medium for modern broadcast journalism but also enhance communication among MAPOLY’s ecosystem through educational and developmental programmes, both terrestrially and online via www.mapolyradio.com.
Odedeji assured that the radio station is taking off when the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would be visiting the Polytechnic for re-accreditation of programmes and resource inspection of 17 new programmes by August this year.
